NaeSon LaRue was born in New Orleans, Louisiana, where his passion for music first sparked at the tender age of three. Deeply rooted in his father’s family heritage from New Orleans and Mississippi, NaeSon was surrounded by music from an early age. He vividly recalls watching his uncle play guitar and sing blues and soul for fun—an experience that inspired him to become a musician and singer himself. Influenced by his uncles and cousins, he began imitating music with his voice as a toddler, creating rhythms and melodies from what he heard in his mind.
Like many great singers, NaeSon’s musical journey began in the church. His early influences a impressive range of Artists such as Rance Allen,
Donny Hathaway, Maze Featuring Frankie Beverly, Stevie Wonder,
D' Angelo, Erykah Badu, Aretha Franklin, Chaka Khan, Patti Labelle, Stephanie Mills, Alicia Meyers, Al Green and Earth, Wind & Fire. By the age of eight, he was already writing songs, and as he grew older, he became active in choirs, ensembles, and groups. In high school, he formed Street Harmony, a group that performed at talent shows, banquets, weddings, and community events.
Eventually, NaeSon branched out to develop his own sound—blending Gospel and R&B with the soulful storytelling of his roots. Performing at local cafés, clubs, weddings, and gatherings gave him the platform to share his gift with wider audiences. For NaeSon, music has always been essential—more than passion, it’s his way of life.
With aspirations to grow his career, NaeSon relocated to Atlanta, where he began writing for local artists, collaborating on records, and building his own catalog.
